About BAT Firearms Training

Our Mission

At BAT Firearms Training, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality firearms training to individuals of all skill levels. Our mission is to empower our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and legally handle firearms.

About The Owner

 Tom Gwinn brings extensive experience from both law enforcement and the United States Marine Corps. He is a certified NRA Pistol and Rifle Instructor, as well as a Range Safety Officer. Tom is deeply committed to teaching firearm safety and has a strong, with a proven track record of success in training others firearm safety.

Our Courses

 We offer a comprehensive selection of courses designed to meet the needs of every student, from beginners to experienced shooters. Our training covers everything from fundamental firearm safety to advanced marksmanship.

Private Shooting Range

 This newly developed and growing outdoor range is designed to safely accommodate defensive shooting drills, target practice, and long-range shooting. Conveniently located at 8945 SR204, Thornville, Ohio 43076.

Small Business, School, or places of worship:  Are you prepared?  Active shooter drills are conducted with instructors that will simulate shooters in your business, school, or place of worship.

Concealed Carry (CCW/CHL) class you will be introduced to defensive shooting, based upon an intuitive shooting program designed to help you become a more efficient shooter.  The course is six hours of classroom and two hours range.

Self-Defense

Courses are designed to fit the shooter.  Courses can cover self-defense for home, work, school, or places of worship.  Learn shooting positions and other fundamentals necessary for survival.
